This intermediate woodwind quintet digital download arrangement of the famous "Bridal Chorus" from Richard Wagner’s opera Lohengrin is a staple of American and European wedding music. It is famously used for the bridal processional, generally known as "Here Comes the Bride." Originally written in the Romantic Era, this piece is perfect for college groups, amateur ensembles, and professional quintets. As always, I have included an alternate bass clarinet part in lieu of a missing bassoon.

Wagner’s Lohengrin was written in 1850, as a three-act opera based on the Knight of the Swan legend. The opera was first staged at the world-famous Bayreuth Festspielhaus, which was made possible by Wagner’s patron, King Ludwig II of Bavaria, well-known for his fairytale castles, including Neuschwanstein (on which Walt Disney based his Magic Kingdom castle), Hohenschwanngau, Linderhof, and Herrenchiemsee. Originally composed for a romantic-century orchestra, I hope you enjoy this unique setting for winds.

If you're looking for a wedding music collection for WQ, CMP will be publishing a new collection in May 2026. This wedding music collection will include Wagner's "Bridal Chorus," plus Bach's "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring," Handel's "Air" from the Water Music Suites, Clarke's (Attr. Purcell) "Trumpet Voluntary," Mendelssohn's "Wedding March," from A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Handel's "Arrival of the Queen of Sheba" from the oratorio Solomon. Save 30% on the price of these six individual pieces when you purchase the CMP Wedding Music Collection for WQ. Look for this collection, coming soon!
