"The Washington Post" was written in 1889 in honor of the venerable American newspaper. The march also happened to be admirably suited to the two-step dance, which was just being introduced at that time. This arrangement was written for advanced high school ensembles, college groups, and professional quintets. I have included an alternate Bb clarinet in lieu of a missing Eb clarinet, and also an alternate Bb clarinet part in lieu of a missing alto clarinet.
