This 16th-century Spanish villancico, a musical form popular on the Iberian Peninsula, is a carol used during Advent season. The title is actually made of mostly nonsense syllables that represent the song of a nightingale. However, "Ríu" translates to "River" in Catalan, a tribute to the birthplace of the suggested composer, Bartomeu Càrceres.
