Delight your audiences with this intermediate arrangement for woodwind quintet of Orlando Gibbons’ joyous a cappella anthem "Hosanna to the Son of David"--instantly downloadable for your next holiday performance. This arrangement is a lovely adaptation of a Renaissance choral classic with a sacred text by Saint Matthew. It is perfect for church gigs, Easter or Christmas events, and background dinner music, and is a great opener for recitals.

English Renaissance composer Orlando Gibbons wrote this anthem in 1610 while serving as organist for the Chapel Royal under King James I. This lively, infectious anthem features Renaissance polyphony and rich counterpoint often found in English cathedral music. This arrangement was written for most ensembles, from upper-level high school groups to college quintets to professional ensembles. Originally scored for a full choir, I hope you enjoy this transcription for woodwind quintet of a dynamic, uplifting choral music classic.
