For Woodwind Quintet
Captivate your audiences with this intermediate arrangement for woodwind quintet of Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley's timeless classic "Pure Imagination" from the beloved movie Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory--instantly downloadable for your next performance. This arrangement is perfect for recitals, Pops concerts, movie-themed nights, educational outreach, and weddings. It was written for advanced high school and college ensembles and professional quintets. As always, I have included an alternate bass clarinet in lieu of a missing bassoon.
In 1971, British songwriting duo Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley wrote the score for the beloved American film Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Amazingly, the duo wrote this timeless tune over the phone in just one day. Among its many accolades, this tune was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song. The song resonates with audiences because it affirms the power of individual dreams and encourages creativity. Originally scored for a studio orchestra, I hope you enjoy this unique setting for winds of an American classic.
