Delight your audiences with this advanced-intermediate arrangement for woodwind quintet of John Philip Sousa's march "Nobles of the Mystic Shrine"--instantly downloadable for your next performance. This arrangement is perfect for recitals, weddings, special events, background dinner gigs, educational programs, Pops concerts, and Americana and patriotic programs. Sousa wrote this march in 1923, a year after becoming a Shriner himself. This fraternal society is well-known for its philanthropy, particularly its support of children's hospitals. Sousa dedicated this march to all Shriners.
This popular Sousa march is a short, engaging piece that can break up a long program and give listeners a brief hiatus from some of the heavier pieces. This arrangement was written for college-level ensembles and professional quintets. As always, I have included an alternate bass clarinet part in lieu of a missing bassoon. Originally scored for a full concert band, I hope you enjoy this unique setting of a classic American march for woodwind quintet.
