Supercalifragilistic-expialidocious

For Woodwind Quintet

Celebrate the fantastical with this advanced-intermediate digital download arrangement for woodwind quintet of "Supercalifragilistic-expialidocious" from the movie Mary Poppins. It is perfect for Pops recitals, weddings, background dinner music gigs, and especially children's concerts and educational outreach. This American classic was written for college and professional ensembles. As always, I have included an alternate bass clarinet part in lieu of a missing bassoon.

American brothers Richard and Robert Sherman wrote this quirky and comical song based on a famous but fictional 34-letter word in 1964 for the Disney film Mary Poppins. As for a definition of this fantastical word, it is playfully described as a word to use when you have nothing left to say, but it generally translates to amazing or wonderful. Originally scored for a studio orchestra, I hope you enjoy this unique setting for winds.

This arrangement was recorded on the U. S. Air Force Band of Liberty's The New England Winds / Colonial Brass CD. Here is a link to the recording: USAF Band of Liberty: The New England Winds/Colonial Brass.
