The Christmas Song (Chestnuts)

For clarinet quartet

🎄🎄🎄Delight your audiences with this intermediate arrangement for clarinet quartet of Mel Tormé and Robert Wells' holiday classic "The Christmas Song," also known as "Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire--instantly downloadable for your next holiday performance. This arrangement is perfect for holiday events, recitals, parties, caroling gigs, and church services. It was written for professional, college, and upper-level high school ensembles. My clarinet quartet arrangements have equally balanced parts, so all Bbs will play melody, counter-melody, and technical passages. Originally scored for a studio orchestra, I hope you enjoy this unique setting for clarinets.

🎄This classic American Christmas tune was written in 1945 by Mel Torme and Robert Wells. Nat King Cole first recorded the song in 1946. He recorded it again in 1953, orchestrated by Nelson Riddle, and again in 1961, with Ralph Carmichael. This final version is the one we know best today; the multi-platinum-status song has sold over six million copies and was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the United States National Recording Registry. This favorite American tune was originally written for studio orchestra, but works beautifully for clarinet quartet. Add this heartwarming tune to your holiday programs; your audiences will thank you!
