For Woodwind Quintet
Enchant your listeners with this intermediate arrangement for woodwind quintet of Benny Andersson, Bjorn Ulvaeus, and Tim Rice's both exquisite and powerful ballad "Anthem" from the 2025 smash-hit revival of the award-winning musical Chess--instantly downloadable for your next performance. This arrangement is perfect for Pops concerts, (post) wedding music, Broadway-themed programs, and patriotic concerts. This musical originally debuted in London's West End in 1988, and is now a current top-grossing Broadway revival, starring Aaron Tveit, Lea Michele, and Nicholas Christopher. This new revival of Chess premiered in November 2025, and the cast recording was released in April 2026.
This arrangement was written for advanced high school ensembles, college groups, and professional quintets. As always, I have included an alternate bass clarinet part in lieu of a missing bassoon. Originally scored for a Broadway pit orchestra by the creators of the hit pop music group ABBA, this beautiful ballad will warm your audience's hearts in this unique setting for winds.
